RDMS (Jan Andrews, Ben Andrews and Morgan Andrews - Approved witnessess) can act as a witness for stalking, carcase work and equipment on RDMS ground or your own ground for your Level 2 portfolio.

Courses can be arranged to accommodate your own dates, venue* & group of friends (min group 6) (* if venue is suitable).

The courses follows the criteria set down by DMQ training incorporating all the sections required to obtain the Level 1 certificate, and include, safety, species identification, the law, handling of firearms on the range and in the field and shooting. To include Wild Game Meat Hygiene (Common and Large Game sections). The course is suitable for new and novice stalkers.

Experienced stalkers can opt to omit the course and choose to join the course candidates on the assessment day. Stalkers with LANTRA Wild Game Meat Hygiene may opt to leave out the Hygiene section.

Training

Most countries now have compulsory training imposed on them by their governments before firearms can be purchased or used in hunting or shooting sport situations.

England, Scotland, Ireland and Greece do not have this restriction.

The voluntary education of stalkers though DMQ Deer Management Qualifications in the form of Deer Stalking Certificates DSC Level 1 & 2 strongly show the government that we are successfully self-governing our shooting professions and recreations/sports.

The success of the scheme together with codes of practice, available from The British Deer Society (BDS)will be hugely beneficial in staving off compulsory education and government restrictions.

If the government does choose to implement compulsory education then the successful DMQ scheme would be almost certainly be adopted.
